Our Therapist
Jessica Schnell, PT, DPT

Jessica Schnell left the Virgin Islands to pursue her collegiate education. She left with one goal in mind; she would return home with a skilled service to offer her island community. During her undergraduate career, her course work and internships led her towards deciding on a career in physical therapy. Physical therapy was her choice for many reasons, but ultimately it was, the improvement in quality of life, gained by patients learning how to manage their symptoms through therapy. After completing her undergraduate studies at Villanova University, she began her Doctoral studies at Nova Southeastern University. During that time she was an intern in multiple physical therapy settings; from acute and impatient care with Mount Sinai Hospital/Rehab Center to outpatient care with Select Physical Therapy. After graduation she was employed in a privately owned and operated physical therapy practice, under the mentorship of Mary Ann Towne, proprietor and accomplished Doctor of physical therapy. It was during this time that she found her niche in the outpatient physical therapy setting. Upon her return to the Virgin Islands she was presented with the opportunity to work in the home care setting.  While working in home care, Jessica realized there was a need on St. John for Physical Therapy and in November of 2011, St. John Physical Therapy opened. Since then St. John Therapy has grown, as has Jessica's experience and knowledge. She has traveled to continue learning to provide her patient's the best possible care. Some of the courses she has taken include: Pilates Foundation Certification courses for CIA, Movement System Syndromes with Shirley Sahrmann and various Evidence Based presentations at the World Therapy Congress in 2012, & Cranial Sacral coursework CS1, CS2, SER1, & SER2, currently she is working towards certification as a Cranial Sacral Therapist.
